The Buffalo chapter of Habitat for Humanity focuses on providing affordable housing solutions through various programs. The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) is a non-profit organization focused on affordable homeownership. It offers the Best in America Mortgage with no down payment, no closing costs, no fees, and below-market fixed interest rates. NACA provides comprehensive housing counseling and uses character-based lending, not considering credit scores. Their programs include the Purchase Program, Purchase & Rehab Mortgage, and the Homeownership Through Public Housing Assistance (HOT-PHA) program. NACA has helped over 75,000 people, primarily people of color, become homeowners with a very low foreclosure rate.
